Pancakes or Waffles? It is often a
question that many people ask themselves in the morning when they are wishing
for a treat. Each is just a simple concoction of eggs, milk, and flour, but
each person often has a preference.
In my opinion, pancakes are superior
to waffles because of their versatility. Because you only need a skillet and
not a waffle maker, it’s much easier to control portion sizes. Adding to the
traditional bisquick mix won’t mess up your skillet, but it might to your
waffle maker if its chocolate chips, which then burn, and you have burnt
chocolate chips on the rest of your waffles! Also, you don’t get that weird waffle
crunch, which then turns oddly soggy once you add the syrup.
Pancakes are super easy, all you
need is a skillet and a flipper!
Apple Cinnamon
Pancakes

This amount made me 2 servings and a mini snack. It took me about 7 minutes of prep and 15 minutes to cook.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups of flour
3 tsp of baking powder
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 ¼ cups of milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons of butter (melted)
1 large apple
2 tablespoons of cinnamon
(Optional: syrup/ butter/ cinnamon sugar mix to finish)
1 ½ cups of flour
3 tsp of baking powder
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 ¼ cups of milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons of butter (melted)
1 large apple
2 tablespoons of cinnamon
(Optional: syrup/ butter/ cinnamon sugar mix to finish)
1.
Put all of the dry ingredients in a bowl (except
the apples), pick one that will give you some space to mix everything together!
2.
Cut the apple like you are making apple slices
and then thinly slice those apples (toss in some sugar for some extra
sweetness!)
3.
Mix in all of the wet ingredients
4.
Now we go to the skillet, I have a rather small
one, but I can still do it. Use medium heat and plop your pancakes down, making
smaller pancakes are much easier to flip. This is when you add the apples,
sprinkle those bad boys on that pancake.
5.
Finish with syrup or butter to make it extra
awesome
Important part, you flip the pancake when bubbles start to
form on the pancake. If the bubbles form
right away, and I mean as soon as the batter hits the skillet, turn the heat
down or your pancakes might be raw in the middle!
Congratulations! You now have awesome pancakes!
